Attending the 63rd Birthday Celebration of Emperor Naruhito (February 23rd, 1960 - February 23rd, 2023) held in Da Nang
On behalf of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, leader of the Department of Foreign Affairs attended the 63rd Birthday Celebration of Emperor Naruhito with the invitation of the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, which will be held on the afternoon of February 22, 2023, at Mikazuki Hotel, Da Nang City. Attending the celebration, there were leaders and related agencies of 9 provinces and cities located in the consular area (Da Nang, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Gia Lai and Binh Dinh), diplomatic agencies, universities, NGOs and Japanese corporate organizations in Da Nang.

Speaking at the ceremony, Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori expressed his pleasure to welcome distinguished guests to attend the celebration; also the relationship between Japan, Da Nang and the central provinces of Vietnam is increasingly deepening, Japanese businesses are interested in looking for investment opportunities in this area, especially in the areas of retail, service... Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori said that 2023 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam (1973-2023). In the central region, especially in Da Nang city, Quang Nam province and Thua Thien Hue province, commemorative activities are being planned, in which from February 13th - 18th, "Settsu" - the patrol boat of the Japanese Coast Guard had docked at Tien Sa Port - Da Nang to make a friendship visit to Da Nang city and organize exchanges and joint exercises with the Vietnamese Coast Guard. The Consulate General affirmed that the relationship between Japan and the central region of Vietnam has developed comprehensively in terms of politics, security, economy and culture.
Speaking at the Celebration, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh shared his joy and best wishes to the officers and employees of the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang on the occasion of Emperor Naruhito's birthday; also affirmed that Da Nang in particular and the central provinces in general will make efforts to contribute to fostering and developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
On this occasion, leaders of Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs met with Consul General Yakabe Yoshinori to inform about some Japanese investment projects in Binh Dinh, cooperation program between Binh Dinh and Japanese localities in recent years and hope that the Consulate General will be a connection to promote Japanese investors to Binh Dinh, especially investing in fields where Japan has strengths to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between the province and Japanese partners in the coming time; promoting cooperation between Binh Dinh province and Izumisano city; the cooperative relationship between Vinh Thanh district with Yoshino Town, Nara province; interested in supporting units in the province to organize activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21st, 1973 - September 21st, 2023).
Accordingly, Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori acknowledged the proposals of Binh Dinh province and said that he would make efforts to promote exchange relations, promote investment and trade cooperation between Japan and Binh Dinh in particular, and other provinces and cities in the central region in general, actively contributing to the development of good cooperation relations between Vietnam and Japan in the coming time.
Japanese Consular Office in Da Nang was upgraded to Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang on January 1st, 2022. This is the first time the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang has celebrated the Emperor's Birthday since the Consulate General was established.
Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City held a reception to celebrate the 63rd birthday of Emperor Naruhito in Hanoi (February 23rd) and Ho Chi Minh (February 08th).
