On the morning of July 10, at ICISE - No. 07 Science Avenue, Area 2, Ghenh Rang Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh, The Advanced Summer School in Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity took place.
Professor Tran Thanh Van speaks at the opening of the Summer School
The main goal of Advanced Summer School in Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity is to share and discuss the knowledge of Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows. This summer school is an opportunity for attendees to receive introductory and advanced lectures on the following topics: Quantum gravity, string theory, black holes, amplitudes, holograms, cosmology, quantum information theory, condensed matter theory, and artificial intelligence. Thereby helping students better understand the above topics.
This important event is organized by the Rencontres du Vietnam in France in collaboration with the international organizing committee of the conference, the ICISE and the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province.
Vice Chairman Lam Hai Giang gives a speech at the opening
ceremony of Summer School
According to the organizers, this is the world's leading quality scientific event in the field of quantum physics with a history of nearly 30 years, held for the first time in Vietnam. The summer school is supported by 22 leading scientists in the world, including 4 professors who have won the Nobel Prize in physics and will focus on quantum field theory and quantum gravity. This summer school attracted a total of 84 scientists from 11 countries around the world. In which, 19 people (2 professors teaching online) from prestigious research institutes and universities in the world attended, including: Harvard University, California Institute of Technology, Stanford University… In particular, the summer school has the participation of Vietnamese-born physicist - Professor Dam Thanh Son at the University of Chicago (USA), who was awarded the 2018 Dirac medal.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Tran Thanh Van - President of the Meeting Vietnam Association - said: "This is the first time this summer school has been held outside of France and Binh Dinh was chosen as the venue. I hoped world scientists come to Vietnam and share new knowledge and discoveries with the young generations of Vietnam, promoting the country's ascent."
In addition, Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said: "I hope that with the participation of professors and prestigious scientists from world-renowned universities, the summer school will be a bridge to exchange and share knowledge among professors, scientists from all around the world with students and scientists in Binh Dinh and also in Viet Nam."
