On May 26th 2020, at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head of the National Boundary Commission, Head of the Standing Office of the State Steering Committee for the East Sea - Islands. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the leaders of the relevant departments and agencies of the province attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung briefly informed the delegation of the socio-economic situation and external activities of the province during the past time, especially the province’s investment cooperation with the countries in Northeast Asia and UNESCO. “Binh Dinh province has very good cooperation relations with Japan, Republic of Korea and China. These three countries are the ones of the Northeast Asia with the majority of investment projects in the province. In addition, Binh Dinh is also a land with a long history and culture and still retains many valuable tangible and intangible cultural works. In 2017, the art of Bai Choi in the Central Vietnam was recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. At present, Binh Dinh is in the process of restoring the values of the traditional martial arts as a basis for preparation of records to submit to UNESCO for recognition as the world heritage in the 2021 - 2030 period”, Mr. Dung said. The leader of the province suggested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue providing support to the province in introducing potential partners and investors who have projects with modern technologies, high intellectual contents, environment-friendly elements, efficient use of resources and competitive products and in introducing the province’s national intangible cultural heritage at the international cultural events. “The Provincial People's Committee is always ready and creates favourable conditions for the investors”, he said.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs highly valued the achievements of the province, especially the investment cooperation between Binh Dinh province and the countries in the Northeast Asia region as well as the conservation of intangible cultural heritage in the province. He also emphasized that Binh Dinh needed to have a good mechanism to lure investors in the current context of the countries’ investment shift. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to cooperate and provide support to the province in the investment promotion activities as well as preparing records of traditional martial arts to submit to UNESCO for recognition as the cultural heritage. After the meeting, Mr. Le Hoai Trung and his team members met and had a talk with the leader and officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
