Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh receives new Consul General of Japan in Da Nang
On the afternoon of June 27, 2024, at the Provincial People's Committee Headquarters, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Thanh received Mr. Mori Takero, the new Consul General of Japan in Da Nang on the occasion of his visit to Binh Dinh. Also attending the meeting were leaders of departments such as Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Health and Tourism.

At the reception, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Thanh gave an overview of the province's potential and advantages and information about cooperation between Binh Dinh province and Japanese localities and partners. For example, Binh Dinh is a province in the North Central region and Central Coast, located in a strategic location with a synchronous and convenient transportation infrastructure system including road, rail, sea and air. To date, the province has attracted 19 projects from Japanese investors, with a total registered capital of nearly 100 million USD. Export turnover in the first 6 months of 2024 to the Japanese market is estimated to reach more than 123 million USD and import turnover at the same period nearly 25 million USD. Regarding local-level cooperation, thanks to the connection and support of Mr. Hitoshi Kato, late Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai, both sides regularly organize exchange activities, conferences calling for investment, etc. Currently, there is one dispatched staff from the sister city of Izumisano working in Binh Dinh province to coordinate the implementation of the cooperation program between the two localities.
Mr. Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, thanked the province for always paying attention and creating favorable conditions for Japanese businesses operating in Binh Dinh. He also hoped to continue to receive close coordination and support from provincial leaders and relevant agencies in organizing activities of introduction, connection and cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh also said that Binh Dinh province would organize the 2024 Binh Đinh Essence of Land and Sea Festival from July 11 - 15, 2024 to introduce and promote ocean tuna delicacies, so he invited Mr. Mori Takero with his family, colleagues, and Japanese businesses to attend this great event.
