Yosakoi is a traditional Japanese dance, meaning "You are invited to come tonight". This is a joyful dance, carrying the spirit of smiles, happy performer's face, and strong, decisive and uniform movements. In addition to Kochi City, the home of festivals, Yosakoi festivals are held in more than 200 places throughout Japan and abroad. Moreover, Izumisano City hosts a national festival named "Eejanaika Festival" around mid-October every year. More than 100 teams and about 4,000 dancers across the country perform the Yosakoi Naruko dance at the festival.
