On the afternoon of August 12, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, the delegation of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang city led by Ms. Dong Bich Du paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial People's Committee. Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh hosted the reception. Also attending the meeting were leaders of the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Tourism, and Provincial Economic Zone Administration.

At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh appreciated the visit of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang city and provided an overview of outstanding results on socio-economic development in 7 months of 2024, investment and trade activities and products exported to the Chinese market. Accordingly, in the province there are currently 20 investment projects of Chinese enterprises (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) with a total registered capital of more than 229 million USD. In the first 7 months of 2024, the total export turnover of enterprises in the province to the Chinese market reached about 126 million USD, an increase of over 51% over the same period last year. The main export items include wooden furniture of all kinds, cassava and products from cassava, ores and other minerals... of which, wooden furniture of all kinds accounts for the highest proportion, reaching over 57 % of the province's total export turnover to China. Import turnover from the Chinese market reached 101 million USD, an increase of nearly 23% over the same period in 2023. At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh also expressed his thanks for receiving non-refundable aid named "Support for building charity houses for disadvantaged households in some localities of the province" sponsored by the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang, with total cost of 325 million VND, including Phu Cat district (01 house), Phu My district (02 houses), Hoai An district (01 house) and Hoai Nhon town (02 houses), helping those households to improve their lives.
Vice Chairman Thanh hoped that Ms. Dong Bich Du would continue to be a bridge in introducing and promoting the potential of Binh Dinh province to the Chinese businesses so that more and more Chinese investors and tourists could come to explore investment and business opportunities, visit and go sightseeing in Binh Dinh province.

During the working trip to Binh Dinh province, the delegation also visited one household benefiting from the above-mentioned non-project in Cat Minh commune, Phu Cat district; had a working session with relevant agencies at the Department of Foreign Affairs to discuss consular work and at the Department of Industry and Trade on economic and trade cooperation; and visited a provincial enterprise having cooperated with Chinese partners.
