At the reception, Chairman Pham Anh Tuan informed the delegation about the potential, advantages, investment and socio-economic development orientation of the province, in which sustainable green economy development had been paid attention, not trading the environment for economic development. Therefore, along with encouraging enterprises to produce and export wood and wood products, the province focused on implementing solutions to increase forest coverage and develope large timber forests with clear origins. In addition, Binh Dinh created favorable conditions for enterprises to invest in renewable energy development, waste and wastewater treatment, industrial production associated with environmental protection, livelihood improvement and climate change adaptation; and it also focused on attracting investment projects in science and technology, especially artificial intelligence and semiconductors, etc. Therefore, EU member countries could be interested in investing or cooperating in those fields in Binh Dinh.

In addition, the Chairman said Binh Dinh had been doing well in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) and the EU deforestation regulations (EUDR), and he hoped that the EU would acknowledge, continue to share and support such efforts of Viet Nam in general and Binh Dinh in particular. Regarding the offshore wind power project of PNE Group, Binh Dinh always supported and provided maximum assistance for its implementation. The Vietnamese Government also had a policy to create conditions for foreign enterprises to cooperate and invest in clean and renewable energy projects; thus, it was a good opportunity for PNE to realize the implementation of its project in Binh Dinh.

Head of Cooperation at the EU delegation in Viet Nam, Ms. Kristina Bünde said, the EU is currently an important economic partner of Viet Nam, the largest non-refundable aid partner and a major export market of Viet Nam. In recent years, the EU has paid attention to investing and supporting development in many fields in Viet Nam. The EU has funds to support investment in the fields of environmental protection, wastewater treatment, climate change risk mitigation, life quality improvement and so on in many countries around the world, including Viet Nam. Currently, many EU member states are implementing projects in Binh Dinh related to the fields of environmental protection, climate change risk mitigation, etc.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan proposed that the EU delegation in Viet Nam coordinate with the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee (the Department of Foreign Affairs as a focal point) to organize a meeting with EU enterprises in Binh Dinh in the first quarter of 2025 to exchange and discuss in more depth related issues of mutual interest, thereby promoting investment attraction and development activities from EU member countries to Binh Dinh.

Currently, in Binh Dinh province, there are 7 projects of European investors, with a total registered capital of 124.66 million USD, mainly in the fields of industrial production (6 projects) and services (1 project). Of which, 4 projects of German investors, 2 projects of Dutch investors and 1 project of French investors are operating very effectively.
