Ribbon cutting ceremony of PNE Group Representative Office in Quy Nhon City
At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung expressed his pleasure to welcome Ms. Helga Margarete Barth and members of the delegation and informed about the development orientation, potential, advantages and policies to attract investment of the province.
Accordingly, the province has had 91 FDI projects with a total registered capital of over 1.19 billion USD, including 04 projects of German enterprises operating effectively with a total registered investment capital of nearly 60.5 million USD. Notably, the high-tech emulsion and thin film factory, phase 1 of the Kurz Group, with an investment capital of 45.39 million USD, has been put into operation since 2023. In addition, the provincial authorities are actively promoting related procedures for the PNE Group to soon implement offshore wind farms in Phu Cat and Phu My districts, with an expected capacity of about 2,000 MW and an investment capital of 4.6 billion USD. This is a large-scale project and the first offshore wind power project in Viet Nam. In the past time, Binh Dinh province and PNE Group have implemented many tasks related to the preparation of investment projects and have achieved quite important initial results. Currently, the province and PNE Group are waiting for the Vietnamese Government to approve the investment policy, as a basis for implementing the project. On this occasion, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung hoped that Ms. Barth would actively support and assist Binh Dinh province and PNE Group to successfully implement this project.
Talking about the above project, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the project's operation contributes to exploiting the potential, advantages and efficiency for both sides. Therefore, the Chairman hoped that the Ambassador would pay attention to making recommendations and proposals to the Vietnamese Government and relevant ministries and sectors to soon approve of PNE Group’s investment in this project.
In response, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth said that Binh Dinh was the first province she has visited after being appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Viet Nam and she was very impressed with the scenery here, the investment and development orientation as well as the province's dynamic way for development. The German Government always supports and accompanies large German corporations to invest abroad, including PNE Group investing in offshore wind power in Binh Dinh, Viet Nam. So far, the two sides have taken important steps and the project has also made new progress. However, it is necessary to have cooperation and support from the Vietnamese Government and the German Government to realize this project. She herself fully supports the offshore wind power project that PNE Group is promoting investment in Binh Dinh province and will have positive actions for this project.
