Binh Dinh to hold Korean Investment Promotion Conference in early August, 2021
To promote introduction of the potential and strengths of the province to the Korean investors and partners; create a new step in attracting foreign direct investment from the Korean businesses, contributing to the development of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korean in general and Binh Dinh province in particular and as agreed with H.E. Mr. Park Noh-wan, Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam in his visit to Binh Dinh province in November, 2020, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province issued Plan Ref. 59/KH-UBND dated May 12th, 2021 for organization of the Korean investment promotion conference (hereinafter called “the Conference”) in Binh Dinh province, expectedly in early August, 2021.
According to Plan Ref. 59/KH-UBND dated May 12th, 2021 by the Provincial People’s Committee, it is expected that the Conference will attract participation of about 250 people, including the delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Investment. The Korean delegates include H.E. Mr. Ambassador to Vietnam, the Consulates General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam (KORCHAM) and from 80 to 100 representatives of the organizations and businesses of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam. The participants of Binh Dinh province are expected to include about 150 people consisting of the Standing body of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing body of the Provincial People’s Council, the leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee, the concerned departments and agencies, the people’s committees of the districts, towns and city, companies and enterprises and associations in Binh Dinh province.
According to the plan, the Conference will be held for 01 day in early August, 2021 at the Provincial Convention Center (No. 01 Nguyen Tat Thanh street, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province), in which in the morning the delegates will be arranged to visit Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Integrated Township and Industrial Park, Nhon Hoa Industrial Park (phase 2), Quy Nhon Port, Quy Hoa Science and Education urban area, some traffic routes in the province, etc; in the afternoon, the agenda includes the opening speech by the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; speech by H.E. Korean Ambassador to Vietnam; introduction of the socio-economic situation, potential and strengths of Binh Dinh province and the development orientation of the province in the coming time; introduction of the investment procedures, incentive policies, key investment projects in the province and the main investment attraction orientations of Binh Dinh province in the time to come; signing investment registration commitments, awarding decisions on investment policy approval, investment registration certificates to enterprises (if any) and closing speech by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; in the evening it is the Gala Dinner combined with the Vietnam - Korea Cultural exchange programme. In addition, some booths are also arranged in the lobby area of the Conference hall to display images, documents, models and results of tourism, service, industry, projects calling for investment, etc.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has been assigned to act as the focal point and coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment, the Provincial Economic Zone Administration and the related agencies to prepare the contents, programme and relevant conditions for organization of the Conference and agree with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam about the specific time, list of Korean businesses and partners that attend the Conference and report them to the Provincial People’s Committee.
