Consul General of Australia in Ho Chi Minh City received by leader of Provincial People's Committee

On the morning of April 29th, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee received Ms. Julianne Cowley - Australian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee. The event was attended by the representatives of the related departments and agencies of the province.

At the meeting, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, informed the Consul General of the natural conditions, culture, potential and strengths of the province. Binh Dinh is a province in the South Central Coast of Vietnam, located at a strategic location in Southeast Asia and is the nearest gateway to the East Sea of the Mekong sub-region. Binh Dinh has planned and constructed 01 economic zone, 10 industrial zones, 61 industrial clusters with a wide range of sectors.

Binh Dinh has attracted 86 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of about USD 1,019.98 million, of which 37 projects are in the economic zone and industrial zones with a total registered capital of more than USD 777.37 million and 49 projects outside the economic zone and industrial zones with a total registered capital of more than USD 242.7 million. Out of 86 FDI projects, there are 06 invested by the Australian investors with a total registered investment capital of USD 20.29 million. On the occasion, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, hoped that Ms. Julianne Cowley - Consul General of Australia in Ho Chi Minh City would help and connect more Australian businesses to invest bigger projects in the province and also promote cooperation between the two sides in agriculture, education, tourism, etc.

Ms. Julianne Cowley - Australian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City expressed her thanks to the provincial leaders for the warm welcome. That was her first visit to Binh Dinh province and she was very impressed with the potential, advantages and development of the province in recent years. She hoped that in the future, together with the achievements of the cooperation relation between the two countries, the cooperation relation between the Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Dinh province would develop in other fields beside agriculture./.
