Online meeting with Ambassadors, Consuls General for the 2021-2024 term

On the afternoon of November 17th, 2021, in Ha Noi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the online meeting between the Ambassadors and Consuls General for the 2021-2024 term and the localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions to exchange information on the potential, opportunities for investment attraction and trade promotion of the localities with the foreign partners. In Binh Dinh province, the meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and participated by the leaders of the relevant departments, agencies and some enterprises of the province.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. To Anh Dung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and participated by 28 heads of the overseas Vietnamese representative missions for the 2021-2024 term appointed by the President and about 200 delegates who are the leaders of the People's Committees, Departments of Foreign Affairs, relevant departments, agencies and enterprises of the provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions and the agencies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the meeting, the leaders (Chairmen, Vice Chairmen) of the People's Committees of provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions gave brief information on the characteristics, conditions and foreign affairs activities in the past time and the key tasks of the localities to be carried out in the coming time and affirmed that to effectively exploit and use the potential, strengths, priority areas as well as the key investment projects of each region and each locality, the provinces and cities really need the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in general and the heads of the overseas Vietnamese representative missions in particular. Therefore, it is hoped to receive the assistance of the Ambassadors and Consuls General in strengthening and developing the cooperation relations between the localities and the foreign partners so that the localities can connect with the potential foreign partners and enterprises in the areas the localities need, especially the large-scale projects with high technology content or the ones attracting many workers for the socio-economic development.
In Binh Dinh province, Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech, congratulating the new Ambassadors and Consuls General appointed by the President for the 2021-2024 term; informed the heads of the overseas representative missions of the socio-economic development situation, emphasizing the potential, strengths and socio-economic achievements of the province in the past years and the investment, trade promotion programs and plans and a number of key projects that need to be invested by the foreign investors. In addition, he also suggested that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassadors and Consuls General continue to pay attention and help the province in the coming time, especially in the large-scale projects, key investment projects both registered and not yet registered in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone and the Industrial Parks in the province and connect the province to the potential foreign investors, businesses and partners in the fields the province needs, contributing to the promotion of the socio-economic development.
The pieces of information provided as well as recommendations and suggestions made by the localities at the meeting are recorded and the Ambassadors and Consuls General of the overseas Vietnamese representative missions for the 2021-2024 term committed themselves to be with the localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions in introducing the potential and advantages for investment promotion and international cooperation to serve the socio-economic development of the localities. The leader of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also suggested that the Ambassadors and Consuls General pay attention to the recommendations made by the representatives of the localities to have plans for timely support; be the active and effective bridges between the localities and the foreign partners in cooperation and attraction of foreign direct investment to contribute to the early improvement of the Central and Central Highlands localities. In addition, he also suggested that the localities in the regions should be more active in promoting and expanding the international cooperation relations for new development opportunities.
